Larry
Cordle
Took Down And Put Up
Lonesome Day Records
BY GRACIE MULDOON

Showing his Bluegrass roots, and proud to, is Kentucky boy
Larry Cordle - one of the most versatile and creative songwriters and performers
in bluegrass and country music. Whether it’s a hard driving, fast-paced tune or
a slow, sincere ballad - you just can’t top what this man does with a song. The
songs featured on this project are all indicative of his talent and those of his
friends and you have to experience each one to get the fullness of the goodness
contained in the music. While all of these songs are fantastic, my favorite pick
is Song for Keith - a heat-rendered tribute to Keith Whitley. This one
will touch you to the core. Rough Around the Edges got everyone’s
attention right away because it’s hot, hot, hot! Besides Lonesome Standard Time
you get lots of other pickers who can sing too like Randy Kohrs, Kim Gardner,
Dave Talbot, Travis Tritt. Gotta have this one. BMP
