Seldom Scene
Scenechronized
Sugar Hill Records

BY HAL COTTRELL

What can you say about The Seldom Scene that hasn’t already been said? The Scene has been producing great music for over 35 years and their latest effort is no exception. Drawing on songs from the likes of John Fogerty, Steve Earle, Bob Dylan as well as Carter Stanley there is something on this project for everyone. The haunting version of John Duffey’s Don’t Bother With White Satin is reminiscent of the earlier make-up of the group when John sang high lead. The vocals and instrumentation are flawless, as they are with any Scene project. Other songs include Hometown Blues, Heart And Soul, A Hundred And Ten In The Shade.   BMP
