Bluegrass banjo player Allen Shelton passed away Saturday, November 21, while battling leukemia. Shelton was a member of Jim & Jesse McReynolds band in the 1960’s.

Visitation takes place Monday between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. at Woodard Funeral Home, 5591 Highway 31E in Westmoreland, Tennessee. There will be a second visitation opportunity from 10 a.m. until service time on Tuesday. Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, from The Chapel of Woodard Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sumner Memorial Gardens in Gallatin, Tennessee.
