Artist of the Week

Chris Warner

BMP: Tell us a little about your current group, list the members and mention any new or upcoming news.

I haven’t worked with a band permanently for a couple of years but have been filling in with Wayne Taylor and Appaloosa until he finds a permanent banjo player.

BMP:  What would you like readers to know about your latest CD?

While I realize nothing stays the same, including bluegrass, I initially fell in love with traditional, hard driving bluegrass.  That’s what I still love and play today.  That’ s why all my recordings are in that style.  My new CD, “Goin’ to the Dance” is no exception. It was a pleasure to have Tom Adams debut his singing and guitar playing as well as allowing some great local musicians, namely Dick Laird, Heath Laird, Steve Streett, Mark Seitz, and Patrick McAvinue to record and get some recognition.  I’m also very pleased to have had Darren Beachley, and Michael Cleveland on the CD as well. The CD is made up of vocals and instrumentals many of which I wrote.   I hope people will enjoy it.

BMP:   What would you do if you weren’t a musician?

I don’t know what else I would be doing other that what I am doing now.  Which is repairing string instruments at Campbell’s Music Service in York, Pa., and restoring antique muzzle loading rifles.

BMP:  What is most memorable Valentine’s Day?

The next one, now that you have reminded me, I’ll remember it  much to the delight of my wife.

BMP: What is the craziest or funniest thing that has happened to you involving the current winter snow storms?

Absolutely nothing happened.  There’s nothing funny to me about snow.
