Reigning IBMA Entertainers of the Year Dailey & Vincent are standing on top of the bluegrass world. Jamie Dailey and Darrin Vincent once again get personal with BMP. In this humorous interview the guys talk about how their lives have changed since the success hit, two of their more memorable moments from the road, what they do that gets on each other’s nerves, Darrin being a “snob” to Jamie, and a career in politics.

Special C founder, Greg Cahill is celebrating 35 years in bluegrass music. What an accomplishment! This interview will take you to the beginning with Greg playing music in Chicago, and the formation of The Special Consensus,  and fast forwarding to now. He shares his involvement of bringing bluegrass music into schools. And in conjunction with their 35th anniversary the group has a new CD titled 35 and an anniversary concert planned for October 23.

BARRY BALES

 Our ShopTalk feature this issue is with bass player, Barry Bales. He shares that he started playing bass as a teenager. Barry now owns five upright basses, three electric basses, two acoustic guitars, three electric guitars, a banjo, Dobro, fiddle, mandolin, and a steel guitar. He describes his style as very timing-bases and supportive. Bass players can learn his style by viewing his new instructional DVD.
